Multilingual Events

In my multilingual web site (multilinguality is supported by polylang plugin) I want to create multilingual events.
When creating a new event, there is no option to define its language. So I suppose that the event language comes from the Event Group that it belongs to (Event groups have language attribute).

So in my web site I have created two Event Groups: "Training Events" and its Greek translation "Εκπαιδευτικές Δράσεις".
In the English event group, I have created several events while in the Greek Group I have created only one.

While in english language, going to the events loop page (i.e. http://my-website/events) all the events of the english event group are shown as expected.
When in greek language, going to the events loop page (http://my-website/el/events) it redirects to the (greek) home page...

So the question is: how can I have the events loop page showing the events that belong to my Greek Group?

Hey the feature you are trying to access is not available or restricted in Polygan Plugin https://wordpress.org/support/topic/polylang-redirects-to-en-subdirectory-only-for-the-homepage/

You can buy the pro version of plugin or discuss with author before buying we do not gurantee or take responsibility of third party plugins. 

You can also try to translate the taxnomy, and the event, if you have different events and taxnomies for both languages. Then try to post your el language events also in english. That would take your visitor to english site. Which i think is not reasonable. This is plugin's issue i recommend you to discuss with plugin authors what they recommend.

I tried to use WPML (pro version) to support multilinguality since you said that the polylang free version has these issues.

Howerver, I'm running into the same problem. I have created 10 English events and 1 (translation of the first) in Greek. When in english the /events pages shows all the english events. When switching to greek it redirects me to the greek home page.

So it seems that this is'nt a third party plugin issue, but a theme issue. Unless I have a wrong configuration apllied.

Can you please tell me how can achieve multilinugality in events?

As you are using multi site WordPress installation which have different .htaccess configurations than normal single WordPress installation. Can you try this in simple single WordPress installation if things work fine there? Also send me your FTP or cPanel logins so i can have a view to your directories listing. 

Yes i checked them they look okay. Its weird issue you are facing. As my theme is already being used for multi language installations for several clients but not on MultiSite setup. The only problem coming up are URL's not working properly. Do you have single WordPress installation can you try there? 

Do these things. 

1) Install Single WordPress 
2) Export xml file from your current installation

3) Import in new installation 

and then test what happens. And do share the logins with me so i can also try to figure out what is the issue. Thanks

I had a localhost installation where I have imported the demo site that comes with the theme. I exported my current installation (tim.wp.music.tuc.gr) and imported there.

It works as expected. So it seems that this is a theme issue in multi-site installations. How can i proceed?

Theme does not have issue with the Multi Site installation as we also use Multi site installations for our developments. The issue is with the plugins which are not making URL's correctly for Multi site installations. You can activate some other theme and try this as well you will encounter same issue. You can discuss this with plugin authors they may able to provide you some feedbcak. Also tell me what is your PHP version and what is your server platform? Is it linux apache and php 7.0 Thanks
