Site is running super slow....

Make sure you are using a good hosting company like HostGator, BlueHost. Godaddy is not that better but their cPanel hosting is also good. Mostly issue is with the hosting if you are not using any new extra plugins. 

For performance i recommend you to use. Autoptimize WordPress plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/autoptimize/ if you already have installed some plugins for speed optimization deactivate them. Use EWWW image optimizer along this plugin as well. In Autoptimize settings please enable minify, html, css and javaScript as well.

Well we do not have control of the hosting company and because it is part of a city school district, they are forced to use the school district's servers. Can't you go through the site and see what the issue is? I still have 15 days of support left with you. I am not going to sign up with anything new unless I feel comfortable that you are willing to help me and only after my 15 days are done. So again, please look at my site and let me know why your theme is running slow...

Also please deactivate plugins all plugins which you installed and theme does not recommend and then check the speed, if that give you good difference, then activate those plugins one by one and see which plugin is using your most of resources. 

I have deleted your couple of optimization plugins and installed one which do work for me on several hostings. 

Please check your website speed here after everything you do above. https://gtmetrix.com/ however your server response time is also very slow i recommend you to discuss with your server administrators as well. 

If you don't get success still, i recommend you to use CloudFlare in your website for this you would require to change your domian's DNS and point to CloudFlare's nameservers. Better you take someone's help who have experience with it. This will give you good difference.
