Seems like you have your server error please check server error logs what error your server is producing. You can also make sure the PHP version your site is running is compatible with the script requires. 

I appreciate your quick response. New Script is compatible with PHP 7.0+.

Another question: Can you please let me know the root path to update the language.

You can set multi language for General Ledger. 

General Ledger Accounting is available in different languages like English, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian ...

You can update languages by going to folder locales/ there you can find all the folders where you can find .po files which you can edit with poEdit software and make your own translation.

To use website in 1 language mainly english you do not need to translate .po or .mo files just edit the file in your case companies.php and find the strings you want to change and replace them with your desired words.
