Users shouldn't be editing from the backend but rather from the frontend.

Hey Managers and Technicians have limited access they do not get any other backend option, They will only see jobs they have access to and they would not able to do anything else. 

There are various roles of users in WordPress like Authors, Editors, Customers, And our plugin also adds roles like, Technicians, and Managers which have limited access not like admin access.

I'm referring to customers, it revert to edit in the backend for a customer if the customer is editing their info

Yes that is the default WordPress behaviour edit profile screen is by WordPress in future versions we would may create it on front end as well but its completely secure and the way WordPress let logged in users manage their personal details.
