Many of you have seen when you go to some fan page they greet you with your name if your name is john they greet you like Welcome John to our fan page! how they do that?
As you know facebook is no more on FBML static fan pages its now on Iframe fan pages but still you can use static fbml to make a fan page tab.
In Iframe fan page you cannot get visitor’s name because iframe tab is not hosted in facebook that is hosted in your hosting and facebook do not share their user’s private information outside facebook pages for this purpose you need permission from user to get his name. This is possible in Iframe fan page but when user will reach your page application will ask him about permission that will look more bad. So basically we cannot get visitor’s user name in iframe application without permission to our application by user.
But we can get their name in static FBML fan page tab with using FBML line of code remember this will only work on static fbml fan page. Just copy paste the following code in your static fbml fan page tab that will work fine.
